Clint Dempsey Becomes First American Ever to Score 50 English Premier League Goals

2012 May 6
by Brian Quarstad

Clint Dempsey has gone where no other American has ever gone before. I believe they call those sorts of people pioneers. That would be a good description of the Nacogdoches, Texas native who spends most of his time these days in England playing for Fulham FC.

Dempsey set a record on Sunday in a league match againstĀ Sunderland with a fantastic free kick in the first half of play. The goal gave him his 17th goal of the season and 23rd in all competitions playing for Fulham.

Recently Dempsey came in 4th in the Footballer of the Year competition voted on by the Football Writers’ Association. It has indeed been a career year for Dempsey.

I just love the Trailer park product that I affectionately refer to as “the serial killer”.

That dude is as tough as they come. He’s gritty, he’s got that little streak of nasty.

    That guy is a baller.
