Standing with the Dark Clouds on the east side and looking into the sun I had a hard time watching the game. The Rowdies grass green uniforms were like camo to me and the sun added to the effect. Maybe just maybe, the Stars had the same problem. It appeared at times that they just lost track of a Tampa Bay player that should have easily been picked up or didn’t notice an opponent when passing back.

The Stars seem too predictable when they attack. I think they caught RSL off guard because they attacked differently. Just my humble amateur soccer observation.

Trying to remain positive, the Stars had 2,900+ fans at the match. It did help that there was a soccer tourney at NSC that weekend. Hopefully they can keep drawn more and more fans.

The backline had way too many “half-eh-effort” clearances. The Stars were lucky it only cost them one goal.

Tampa’s backline played very well by contrast. In the second half, no long balls got over their head, and despite the best efforts, the forwards could not push behind.

Hopefully they get it right soon, but so disappointing to watch.
