Eric Wynalda’s First Night on the Job as Coach of the Atlanta Silverbacks; A Photo Essay by Rob Kinnan

2012 July 4

Rob Kinnan is a talented photographer from the Raleigh-Durham-Cary area of North Carolina and for the last year has made his photos available to IMSoccer News to accompany game reports and features. Last night, Kinnan was in attendance at WakeMed Soccer Park to record the debut of Eric Wynalda as head coach of the Atlanta Silverbacks as his new team took on the Carolina RailHawks, who are coached by an old friend, Colin Clarke. Unfortunately for Wynalda, he lost his inaugural game as a professional coach of an NASL team, losing the match 2-1 and bringing the team’s loss total to 9 out of 15 games.

Can we really say that Wynalda brought the team their latest loss? I mean, he had been with them for about 48 hours.

@bullsear, Who said “Wynalda brought the team their latest loss?” I don’t see that statement anywhere.

Nice photos Rob, but you missed the best moment of the night…during the rain delay when the TSF supporters got a fist pump from our “Waldo, give us a wave.” chant :)

I think Wynalda will do well, but the front office has to support him. Let’s not forget Cal FC! I’ve always liked Wynalda.
