Regarding the *Ralph’s Mob was out for Ricky Hill’s head* comment, wanted to clarify the situation. Yes, a lot of us wanted him out. But the specific reason that we wanted him out was because Ricky was playing his son, Shane, over other players who were healthy and, quite frankly, are much better than Shane. Once Ricky replaced Shane with Keith Savage, as a lot of Mobsters suggested, we stopped yelling at Ricky. In fact, we started our run of 7 wins in 8 games right after the change. I don’t think any of us though our run of form would be this strong, but it was aided by the return of not just Yoshi, but also Fafa Picault. Their speed has created a lot of space for players like Ambersley and Dizzy to get free and score goals.

Ironically, a very similar situation happened last year, until Ricky dropped Warren Ukah for Aaron King. But for now, as long as Shane only sees the field as an occasional second-half substitution, the Mob will continue to sing “Ricky Hill ain’t nuttin’ to F* with.”

@Bart – Think of it more like this. You’re dating a really attractive girl, but she needs to leave the country for a year or two studying abroad. So while you are biding your time to be in position to get back with her, you employ the old any port in the storm theory and grin and bear it while hanging with a far less attractive, less “sophisticated” (see what I did there? LOL) girl from the other side of the tracks to pass the time. LOL

Thanks for the compliment! No way will Lagos want to work in USL Pro, he has tasted the joy of upper level coaching with NASL.

However, if all of the supporters of Inside Minnesota Soccer were to contribute some dollars for funding, we might be able to have yet another NASL season in MN with the Stars. BQ can set up a PayPal account and we could all get started……

@BQ – I have a bit of an unconventional question. With all the talk about the possibility of the league discontinuing their funding of the Stars for next year (Mr. Davidson was on yankiboy’s second favorite soccer podcast this last week and discussed it) I have an idea I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere else before. If no investor(s) step up, and NASL decides not to fund the team again, is there any chance that someone could step in and move the Stars from the NASL to the USL for 2013, where the financial standards are far less demanding, especially in terms of the net worth requirement for the majority owner? Even if it was a temporary measure while the search for a deeper pocketed owner continued? Seems way outside the box considering the politics of D2 and D3 of course, just trying to think of some kind of scenario where the Stars could be on the field in 2013 without being funded by the NASL anymore.

“What has Ricky Hill done to the Rowdies?”

He benched his son. Simple as. The midfield isn’t giving the ball away as much, controlling the center of the field and providing a link to the forwards. This forced 4-3-3 is still creating a lot of shots at a lot of bad angles, but having Savage and Campbell as holding midfielders has provided the stability they didn’t have in May or early June.
