The Minnesota Gopher Women’s Soccer Team opens their 2012 home schedule this weekend with two matches at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium, in St. Paul.

Tonight at 7:00 they will be tested when they play FSU who were a final four College Cup team in 2011. FSU captain and Woodbury, Minn., native Kassey Kallman will be missing from the lineup because she is currently in Japan with the US Women’s U-20 National Team as they prepare for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Friday’s match against FSU is Facebook Day. “Like” the Gophers on Facebook and utilize the promo code at MyGopherSports.com to purchase a $4 ticket. The promotion is only good if tickets are purchased in advance. You can also click on the ad to the right of this article.

The Gophers continue the difficult weekend test when they play South Carolina at noon on Sunday at ELR. The Gamecocks went 15-6 last season and won the SEC conference and are expected to be contenders again this year.
