Evolution of Soccer Balls

My friend Bruce McGuire of duNord futbol made a post on Thursday that he had discovered a New York Times poster with close-ups of past World Cup balls photographed by Jens Heilmann. If you click on the poster below you will be taken to that NY Times site. Heilmann has done a wonderful job capturing these balls and the slide sh0w gives you a bit of history with each of the balls.

What I also found was a video of how Heilmann came to photograph the ball for a book he made. You can find that right below the poster.

While all this material was produced for the World Cup last summer, I thought I’d share it with you anyway in case you missed it as I had.

Enjoy!
