Park Cottage Grove Girls Soccer Coach Greg Juba Achieves 400th Career Victory

In yet another story from the Facebook page of the MSHSL, Park Cottage Grove girls soccer coach Greg Juba achieved his 400th career win Wednesday night with the Wolfpack’s 3-0 victory over Bemidji. In over 30 years of coaching girls soccer, Juba has an overall record of 400 wins, 151 losses and 48 ties.

Since 1982, the Park girls soccer team has been one of the premier programs in Minnesota high school soccer. Greg Juba has been the only head coach in the history of this program. His teams have gone to the state tournament six times, and won the state championship in 1990. The Park team also took second place in 1989 and was a semi-finalist in 1988 and 1992. Besides the state participation, his teams were section runner-up seven times, conference champs six times and were second in the conference on eleven occasions.

Juba is on the Executive Board of Directors of the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA), and has been instrumental in providing leadership for Minnesota high school soccer, its growth and development for over three decades. He was named MSHSSCA Head Coach of the Year in 1989 and 2002, and was inducted into the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1997. Last year he was awarded the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association George Haun Leadership Award.

Greg is an IB math instructor at Park. He also coaches boys’ basketball and girls’ golf at the school. Congratulations to Coach Juba on this great accomplishment.
